COVID-19 rapid BinaxNOW Screening will be extended in Minot for at least another week and testing hours will change.

Following a first week of strong community participation, the City of Minot will extend its COVID-19 rapid screening efforts through at least January 9.

“It’s clear there is a demand still within our community, so we’ll keep it going,” announced Mayor Shaun Sipma. “We also now know when people are most likely to utilize the screening, so we adjusted our hours.”

Monday January 4, will remain unchanged as the previous week with testing starting at 8 a.m. and going until 5 p.m. The rest of the week is as follows:

Monday – 8 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday - 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday – 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saturday – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday – No screening.

Over 1,000 tests were administered through the first six days of screening, with a total of 89 individuals testing positive. City staff will evaluate hours of operation each week depending on community turnout.

Tests will be self-administered with the assistance of the Minot Fire Department and other City of Minot staff and offer results in approximately 15 minutes. Testing will be at Minot’s Fire Station #1, 2111 10th St SW. Recipients should pre-register before arriving at the test site online at https://testreg.nd.gov/

All motor vehicles should come from the west on 20th Avenue before turning onto 10th street. This will help to avoid any potential traffic jams at that intersection.
