On September 24th at 6:43 PM, officers were dispatched to the 300 blk of 11th Ave SW for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, a subject was seen fleeing the scene on foot. A short time later, the subject was located near Minot Community Ambulance and taken into custody after a short struggle. The subject, identified as 37 year old Blake Lund, and one Minot PD officer suffered minor injuries during the struggle.

Through further investigation, it was learned that Lund forced open a door to an occupied apartment, brandishing a large knife. The resident retrieved a shotgun for self-defense.
