[ARCHIVED] SWAT incident

On 11/16/18 at approximately 7:14 AM, Minot Police Department received a report indicating a subject, identified as 37 yr old Blake Lund, was in the middle of the street yelling. LUND had outstanding warrants out for his arrest including failing to appear for court in regards to multiple felony offenses.

As officers responded, LUND went into his residence at 1925 26th ST SW. LUND refused to comply with officers and remained in the house. SWAT was called around 09:15 AM to assist in apprehending LUND from the residence. LUND displayed a knife several times and at one point attacked a police robot that was being used to communicate with him.

LUND was eventually taken into custody at approximately 4:05 PM after a struggle with officers. In addition to the outstanding warrants, LUND has been charged with Preventing Arrest (Class C Felony) and Criminal Mischief (Class C Felony) for damaging police equipment. LUND is being held at the Ward County Jail pending his next court appearance.
