[ARCHIVED] Burglary/Terrorizing Incident

UPDATE: 10/02/17- Kyle Coffman has turned himself in at the Ward County Jail.  


UPDATE: 10/01/17-The Minot Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for 35 year old Kyle Edward Coffman. Coffman has been identified as the suspect in the early morning burglary at a Southeast Minot apartment where another male was assaulted and a shot was fired by Coffman. Kyle Coffman is a white male, approximately 6’1” tall, 190 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. He also has a left arm “sleeve” tattoo, dragon tattoo on his chest, and two tribal tattoos on his back.

 Anyone knowing his whereabouts should contact the Minot Police Department at 852-0111. Tips can also be phoned in anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 852-7463. Anyone supplying information leading to the arrest of Coffman could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000


ORIGINAL STORY: On 9/30/17 at 0109 hours, Officers responded to a SE Minot apartment for a report of an individual that had possibly been shot. Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined that the individual had not been shot. The victim, a 52 yr old male, stated that the male suspect had kicked open the door to their apartment and brandished a handgun. A confrontation ensued between the suspect and the victim inside of the apartment. During the fight, the victim was hit several times over the head with a pistol, causing injury. During the fight the handgun was fired, causing only damage inside of the apartment. The suspect then fled on foot prior to officer’s arrival. The victim was transported to Trinity Emergency Room, where he was treated. The victim and suspect are known to each other and it is believed to be an isolated incident.
