Okey dokey. So it's winter now.
TODAY:
Street Department: Working around the clock:
7 motor graders, down 1 due to manpower
2
will be operating without snow gates, but each will be working in a team with a blade that does have a snow gate
4 sanding vehicles will be out in the 4 quadrants of the City - 1 additional standby vehicle is available in the event of maintenance requirements
Storm Sewer Department:
Front end loaders will be used for downtown alleyways and drifting areas in northwest Minot.
Skid-steers will begin moving snow on larger walking paths (City owned)
Mini-loaders will be sued for smaller walking paths (City owned)

REPORTS FROM THE ROAD (night/morning):
Street Department: Priority 1 was completed overnight, drifting will likely require a revisit of those routes during the day.
Police Department: A lot of sliding on the ice layer under the snow, not a lot of vehicles stuck in snow.
Fire Department: Slippery is the best description, some reports of trouble in the area of northwest Minot.
Minot City Transit: Drifting patterns seem to be different from what is normally predictable and it seems to change fast.
PROCLAMATION:
A snow removal emergency proclamation was declared at 10 a.m. Wednesday and will be in place for 24-hours. This means no parking on Snow Routes which are listed as Priority 1 and Priority 2 for snow removal. Those details can be found in the Snow & Ice Control Plan here:
