The Street Department also oversees 22 miles of riverbank and dead loops. Street Department staff are responsible for the maintenance of approximately 110 pieces of equipment and ensure equipment is ready for each season as required. Street Department staff are responsible for all equipment and material needs to maintain budgeted funds properly for salt, sand, gravel, cutting edges and more. Street Department staff conduct safety and maintenance meetings as well as coordinate all contract operations for the department and respond to citizen service requests.

WINTER:

During snow events, employees operate on a 24-hour, on-call schedule. During a storm, please call only when absolutely necessary. The crews are working diligently to clear streets according to the Snow and Ice Control Plan in order of assigned snow removal priority. It does take time to get to all residential areas, but we are on our way!

Street Sweeper Schedule

Watch for our street sweeping schedule, coming soon! Each year, street sweepers start in a different quadrant with a rotating start and repeat throughout the warm weather months. Using Burdick and Broadway as our dividing lines, we will work in the four quadrants of the city. The schedule allows for two weeks in each quadrant, but sweepers will move into the next quadrant if they finish early. This schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions.
