No. Plastic bags and wrap causes equipment jams at recycling processing facilities. These items can be taken to your local retail or grocery stores for recycling drop off such as Walmart, CashWise, and Marketplace. The Minot Public Library also accepts plastic bags for recycling.
No. Glass will not be collected with this curbside service. There is currently little market for recycled glass, and it is costly to transport.
Carts should be placed out the night before collection or no later than 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. Recycling will replace one garbage collection every other week.
Carts should be placed a few feet away from each other and within three (3) feet of the roadway. Please make sure the handle is away from the roadway. Do not place behind trees, mailboxes, lamp posts, or parked cars.

The carts are owned and maintained by the city and do have RFID Tags. If your cart is stolen or damaged, please contact the city to have the cart replaced.

Once collected at the curb, the recycled materials are taken to our recycling transfer station at the landfill to prepare the materials for transport. From the recycling transfer station, recyclables are transported to a sorting facility and contracted to sell on the secondary market.
